The word ‘Equinox’ has its roots in the Latin language, the translation refers to the “equality of night and day”. Astronomically however, it relates to the two occasions in the Earth’s cycle around the sun where day and night are of equal length: These cycles occurring once during Autumn and once during Spring.
The Spring Equinox represents new creation and new beginnings. It is a time of renewal, new beginnings of life, and growth blooming gloriously. It symbolises paving the way for a renewed sense of energy, brought in to help you focus and move forward in new fresh positive ways.
The Autumn Equinox represents a time of ending. It is a time of inner reflection and preparation before the colder months arrive. It’s about inner work, going within and taking stock and inventory of our lives. It symbolises honouring your journey thus far as you reflect, re-balance and re-calibrate yourself going forward.
At Equinox Psychology we believe this is a perfect representation of the journey we go through.
